The project is located in the coastal residential neighborhood of Punta Carretas, in Montevideo, Uruguay . It consists a ground floor with the Lobby, Parking and storage Space and three residential levels. There is a total of nine residential units, four single level with private courtyards and five triplex with their own roof terrace. Each of them with a singular spatial relation to the project´s exterior spaces.
The building was divided into two blocks, separated by horizontal and vertical gardens, and linked by light construction bridges which differentiate from the orthogonal fabric of new apartments in the neighborhood.
The projected units look for providing quality of life in relation to natural light, inner spatial qualities, passive solar design and air flow allowing interior – exterior relations. The external spaces of the complex, inner gardens, private terraces, green roofs and vertical gardens extend visually beyond neighboring house gardens.
The main facade towards Riachuelo street has a wooden skin of movable automatic shutters, its design is based on the vertical shutters of the old XIX century houses in Montevideo.
