The 1,400m2 DLSU Center for La Sallian Formation will be utilized by the students and staff for retreat activities and as a vital space for spiritual development. The interiors aim to create a relaxing ambiance conducive for prayer and contemplation.
The theme of the interiors was to create a modern interpretation of the Garden of Gethsemane. The hallways evoke the sense of walking along a serene forest as you are bounded by linear tree cutouts, cascading ponds and organic shaped ceiling slats that represent the sky and wind. These hallways terminate in key facilities – (1) a meditation pond which features a vertical garden and slatted trellis that transform into benches, (2) a modern prayer room that takes advantage of the views of Manila Bay and (3) a 100 pax dining facility to cater to the end-users.
