Light is the soul of space. This is achieved in traditional Chinese architecture through courtyards and courtyards. Dr. Cheng Yi led her team to study the layout of historical buildings in the renovation project of Li's Yizhuang Group on Shantang Street in Suzhou, and to bring back the disappeared courtyards and courtyards. Due to years of disorderly construction, the courtyard has been occupied, resulting in a lack of sunlight inside the building. By carefully discerning and eliminating falsehood while preserving truth, it presents its original spatial structure. The unique texture of Suzhou neighborhoods, such as streets, alleys, and courtyards, has been revealed in the renovation. Courtyards bring abundant light to historical buildings, revitalizing historical spaces. The windows of traditional buildings not only bring light to the interior, but also serve as excellent framing frames. The scenery of the courtyards, the rich ridges of Suzhou residential buildings, and the distant Tiger Hill are hung on the walls like a painting. Users can enjoy the sunshine while enjoying the beautiful scenery. This feature has been inherited in this project.
