Constructed at Private club, Esporte Clube Pinheiros, at São Paulo city, the project for a Japanese restaurant is located in a small strip of land between a walking mall and the lake club , originally there was a kiosk for contemplation of the lake.
The goal of the project was to implement the construction of subtle and delicate way, as a part of the landscape because the vegetation is lush in the surroundings and should remain the protagonist.
So we could adapt the program and project needs, reduce the impact of it in the environment and enhance its location, the project was thought to be in “flying” over the lake, a fact that reinforced the desired lightness in the project.
Originally thought to be a wooden building both internally and externally seeking warmth and sophistication, the project has changed as to adjustments in the work implementation costs.
From this conceptual review the project wants to make use of some precepts of Japanese culture, such as simplicity and purity, beyond the rhetoric of opposites, In / Iang. The project has created a clean visually space and integrated with its surroundings looking to breaking the stigma of cold and lifeless space, very commonly related to certain buildings with these characteristics.
The storey building is composed of two volumes that are merging and contains specific functions. In the largest volume are the lounge, which faces the lake and has 180 degree views through frames with glass, and the toilets closed in an empty small to which embraces an existing palm. Externally this volume has finished in white color.
The smaller volume contains the kitchen, storage and changing rooms and toilets employees, and which is closed to the outside area because it positioned along the promenade being covered in volcanic stones in black color.
Internally the finishing materials seem to emphasize the relationship between interior and exterior with the maintenance of the use of black and white colors. The floor is in a beige concrete slabs, it´s another element that seeks the unit as this installed either in the lounge as in toilets and the bar area. The point against the black and white is given by the wooden furniture on chairs and tables.
The building was to be performed with a metallic structure with cement board on closures to improve the time of construction and the disposal of excess materials.
