This idiosyncratic building with obvious Chinese influences was build at Strijp-S, Eindhoven (The Netherlands). A vibrant place where living and working go hand in hand.
The new pavilion in Eindhoven is a gift from the Chinese city of Nanjing. The name You Ning therefore refers to this city. You means friendship and 'Ning' is the abbreviation of the city of Nanjing.
Who else than Eveline Wu would be able to come up with a suitable concept? and who else than B-too had to translate her idea to a interior design?
It had to be beautiful and beautiful it is!
So beautiful that the Chinese pavilion received a nomination in the Best New Restaurant Design category of Entree magazine.
A Chinese character in a contemporary building was the assignment for the Chinese architect Zao Chen and the native Eindhoven architectural firm Van Aken. This has been achieved well with the typical shape and the walls made of stones from Nanjing on either side.
Then the inside still had to be done and B-too was called in. A beautiful authentic interior that had to match healthy & delicious food. An open dining with lots of light and real Chinese furniture.
The interior contains elements from both new China and old China: here you will become acquainted with Chinese culture in all facets.
