In 2007 JDWA delivered Restaurant 13 as their contribution to the Jinhua Architecture Park in China.
JDWA was asked to design a restaurant for this international architecture project, initiated by the artist Ai Weiwei and Herzog&DeMeuron architects.
Restaurant 13 expresses JDWA’s take on Chinese dining culture. The building presents three different ‘speeds’ of eating; snacking, dining and lounging. Here, with the open floor plan, the many see-throughs and the level diferences, Restaurant 13 offers an exiting ‘watch and be looked-at’ experience on the banks of the Yiwu rivier.
