Hot and cold! Bold colours inspired by Norway’s lake houses
The inspiration for a new office fitout in HCMC Vietnam is the striking architecture of Norway’s colourful houses reflected on the edge of a deep blue lake.
Module K used the warm colours and distinctive lines of the lake houses to support the brand colour of their client Restaff - a deep blue.
The brief by the technology company, with Vietnamese, Norwegian and international experts gathered in one workspace, was to create a multicultural, colourful workspace with a Norwegian feel and lifestyle - “House of Norway.”
Trang Dang, Module K Design Leader, said: "To both unify and distinguish the various company departments interwoven on two floors, we created two distinctive but related zones. One is a set of cold colours with hot accents, the other hot with cold accents. The two designs strongly support each other, creating a sense of unity.”
“Our concept was to use the colours spread across the ceiling and floor as a key element of the design, as well as simplifying the variety of materials chosen for the furniture design to improve material savings.”
“In this workspace we tried to create a lot of “negative space” – circulation routes, resting places for employees to freely choose depending on the specific purpose of the activity, such as rest periods, breakout spaces or meetings.”
Module K used a variety of print effects on the glass partitions to create visual interest and to generate dividers that push open.
The indirect lighting system, with hidden LED lines, generates strong lines making a bold statement.
