The idea for the design of a climate-resilient house was inspired by the many natural disasters that are particularly evident this summer, Heat and intense rainfall are becoming commonplace today and we have to deal with them.
For this reason, the concept of climate resilience was created in the design of a rather unusual house, which was created at the studio
It was assumed that the residents of the house would cope with all weather conditions, including swollen water, and canoes moored at the pier would be helpful
The house was designed on an elongated and narrow plot of land with high landfall
The slope of the land and the numerous adjacent depressions indicate that in the event of heavy rainfall, the land in the lower part of the
The basic idea was to interfere with the plot as little as possible: the house has an oblong shape and a small building area
The gabled roof facilitates the drainage of rainwater, and the green covering helps protect against the heat
An overhanging terrace and canopies are designed to protect glazing from overheating and create space to go outside.
The minus-one floor in the lowered section proposes a storage space for sports and utility equipment, as well as a small terrace that can become a platform when the waters surge
The minus one floor has been thought out in such a way that it can be flooded without damage, and can be accessed by stairs from the side of the building
The first floor is located on level 0 accessible directly from the road
The first floor includes a living room with an open kitchen and dining room, as well as a bathroom and a boiler room
On the first floor are designed 3 bedrooms, a bathroom and a common space
A large balcony is adjacent to the upstairs bedroom, so the views from the bedroom will be as exceptional as from the living room
The base of the house has been designed as a monolithic one made of waterproof concrete, it can also be a rainwater reservoir used in the house's gray water system for household needs,
a significant part of the structure is wooden construction, along with a facade made of locally sourced wood, which increases the ecological values of the house
The usable area of the house is 180 sqm
