The plot of this house near Santiago de Compostela, stood as a border between the consolidated rural core which leads to it and the plots of agricultural protection that surround it.
The road is limited by constructions and irregular walls consolidated, so that there is no marked alignment. The intervention respects the original structure of the rural town.
The building is articulated with fragmented volumes and auxiliary elements such as arbors and porchs, these elements are attached in part to the existing buildings with the same logic as the traditional buildings of the area, taking advantage of the wealth of outdoor spaces to colonize the plot in different seasons.
The project proposes a predominantly residential character housing to optimize the environmental conditions in which it is inserted and allows intensive enjoyment of his area.
The dwelling is implemented with a simple construction in which concrete structural walls externally coated by a local timber ventilated facade in the high volumes and large format granite masonry in the bedroom´s piece.
Inside, the ground floor has a bedroom , toilet, dining kitchen ( with pantry and laundry room ) and lounge. A lower middle floor for bedrooms , bathrooms and game room for children. Halfway upstairs , study and lounge gets. The study-lounge-kitchen and courtyard north are visually related, with views across the large open window south-east.
This apparent and recognizable exterior volumes fragmentation provides, however, an internal spatial richness, concatenating stays, offering cross views and height variation.
The "machine for living" is completed with indoor and outdoor ”in situ” furniture ( retractable study tables in the bedrooms, headboards, side tables, dresser and chair in master bedroom, bathroom furniture, shelves in game room, bedroom, living room, pantry, library lounge, cupboards, fireplace lounge, TV cabinet, kitchen bench, pantry cabinets, concrete barbecue and fountain for children in the north patio, planters of the terraces, staircase of the library, mailbox, ... ).
