Architects build. Architects destroy. What is an appropriate response for Architecture post-Civil War? How does Architecture respond to the demands placed upon it by the displaced populace of a fractured nation? How can the built environment affect the population of a bleeding country after the bombs have stopped? This study aspires to unravel the tangled threads of nostalgia, memory, politics, religion, and cultural identity that churn around the decisions and foundations of the Architectural response to civil conflict.
