This project performs the San Anton's Market renovation, located in Madrid city center. This building imitates XIX century British industrial construction style and a 168 sqm skylight based on photovoltaic glazing units has been fully integrated in the building. The structure has been designed with sawtooth form consisting on 54 semitransparent photovoltaic glass of 2,5×1,2 meters leading to a 6 kWp installed power and enabling the generation of 7.448 Kwh/year. Moreover, this facility ensures a saving of more than 5 tons of CO2 annually. This system will ensure an optimized PV electrical generation adding multifunctional passive bioclimatic properties of thermal inner comfort since most of the UV and infrared radiation from the sun will be harvested by the silicon-based material (solar filter effect). Furthermore, insulating glass will guarantee best thermal performance in terms of U and g values.
