This project involves the transformation of an existing pool pavilion and the redesign of the adjacent pool. The former guest pavilion, located within an urban garden, had a conventional, self-contained layout that no longer met the users' needs. For its renovation, the interior layout was simplified to create a more spacious and continuous flow between the daytime areas. The outdoor dining area and terrace were expanded, connecting with the garden through a series of sliding glass panels that allow the spaces to be fully opened or closed.
The pavilion was transformed to achieve greater volumetric simplicity, integrating it into its natural surroundings. A white ceramic filter creates a south-facing porch that softens the sunlight and filters the views of the façade facing the established city. A horizontal element clad in vertical slats of natural wood extends to the north, forming a covered outdoor porch that embraces two of the existing palm trees, creating a shaded outdoor space that opens onto the new pool deck. A swimming pool that is transformed by a series of curved lines that "redefine" a new continuous topography of silica sand, in which a series of corten steel luminaires emerge, bathing it in light.
