Among the various buildings that were dealt with in Silahtaraga Power Plant, a typical modern industrial setting formed between 1910's and 1950's, to be transformed into a museum, recreational and educational center; the two large boiler houses that were demolished years ago and of which only foundation traces existed, were handled with an interpretation that implied to their new functions. The most prevailing factor of the design principles for the boiler houses was the motivation of keeping its original facade by hanging with a new layer. These two boiler houses are adopted to an architecture faculty of Istanbul Bilgi University consisting the library of the school, by adding new floors in relation to its facade and keeping all the heritage as it is inside while these floors are not separated by partition walls and let the space become more permeable where people and various functions flow.
