Private Masterplan Contest for the Architectural Development of the Falgueró sector, Escaldes-Engordany, Principality of Andorra. CERVOS-RIBAS-ABAA
The El Falgueró project in Andorra is divided into two sectors separated by a vial. The first one rests on the mountain and constitutes a new limit. While the second fits with your urban environment, completing the existing gaps.
The proposal fits the existing topography of the mountain and adapts from a more natural environment, until reaching an urban environment where the existing fabric is completed.
It is a complex of buildings of different uses, so a volumetric game is created that is positioned in stacked form, creating different displacements and turns to be able to differentiate the uses while improving the views of the valley.
The volumes are worked with two materials combined, wood and stone. For the lower levels and embedded in the mountain, stone is used as the main material and for the upper floors a light wooden facade is created where a green filter with vegetation is introduced to minimize the impact on the landscape and to create a double skin On the facade.
From Visual Army we tackle the project with the intention of boosting with the different images the concepts of the project, and we do not lose the essence of it. It is a large complex of buildings, at a very powerful volumetric level, but never losing sight of the natural environment of Andorra in which the project is located.
We worked collaboratively from the beginning phase of the project, to work the volumetry and gradually refining the project, this allowed us to have a better knowledge of the strong ideas that were wanted to transmit and helped us in producing the images.
Practically we work all the points of the project, at a volumetric level, at an urban level in an overview of the project, in different interior spaces of the project and finally at the construction level, creating details of the façade.
The main image of the project is a pedestrian-level view, walking through the new surroundings of El Falgueró, where it was sought to show the project, integrated with the mountain through its game of volumes, and reflect the urban environment of Andorra, surrounded by mountains. The aspect of the project was very important, given its volumetry, we had to get a game in front to lighten the whole, and create a mixture of reflections, shadows, transparencies and vegetation that helped to integrate it with its surroundings.
The other images were worked to show and promote more specific concepts of the project. Common spaces, private spaces and new urban spaces, in short, to see how the project improves the current urban and landscape situation, seeking to convey its concepts and bring the project closer to the people of Andorra.
