With the fast-paced, dynamic life, the residential house has moved beyond being a place to live. For many people, home is also their place of work, especially for those who can work anywhere online. Therefore, Reis House represents houses for modern urbanites who want a workplace at home but still have boundaries with where they live.

CONCEPT
Due to the owner’s background in online business, Reis House is a residential house that combines a home office with a family’s residence. Since the beginning, the owner has had a high enthusiasm to explore with an eclectic tropical concept that fuses several styles but still features tropical house elements.

The front facade is dominated by dark-colored materials to create contrast and with a minimalist design. The highlight of this house is its interior, where there is an inner courtyard that provides a captivating transition between the office and the living area.

A COZY AND WARM SPACE
The first floor of Reis House is for living areas and offices. The inner courtyard functions as a bridge between the two. To add more privacy, the partition is installed so that the dining room cannot be seen directly from the foyer.

The interior has a luxurious golden accent and comfortable furniture. The ceiling of the inner courtyard area is three-floor high topped with a glass roof to allow natural light to come through, and it lets the plants get plenty of sunlight.

Outside the living room’s window, in the back garden, there is a small pond, providing the sound of serene flowing water. The back garden is also built with raw materials that are consistent with another concept from Reis House: a raw exterior with a luxurious interior.

NEEDS OF ITS RESIDENTS
The living area is the heart of the house where various activities happen. This space must provide comfort, aligned with the character and needs of its residents. The wing house’s living area is connected to the outdoors by means of large glass sliding doors, thus giving a more spacious impression and good air circulation. The swimming pool is also the request of our client who is used to intense physical activity, so they need the convenience of exercising at their own home.
