Final Year Project«Time is a dressmaker specialized in alterations.»Faith Baldwin – American Novelist XX CenturyPre-existence, inheritance, tradition, respect, adaptation, harmony. Respecting the space where to interfere, it was the main objective to adapt it to it’s new functions with no drastic impositions, taking office of time’s scarfs complementing and recreating them on a new story. No forgetting the original architecture and respective distribution of the house, the space is divided in three diferent areas keeping it’s natures: Public/Labour and Private/Residential.Ground and first floor receive the office of the two architectures, friends and residents of the restants up floors: On the second a «loft» (open space) where lives the single partner and the three others receive the four elemented family of the second partner.Although separated physically, the spaces meet together semantically by the intention of keeping and respecting the pre-existed elements.There is no attempt of substitution but yes of superposition and adaptation.
