Surrounding Regents Park in London are a series of imposing terraces designed by John Nash in the 19th Century. Considered ‘National Treasures’ these properties are Grade 1 Listed Buildings.
This project involved the complete restoration and remodelling of one of the few remaining full height townhouses. Having suffered bomb damage in WW2 and subsequently used as an office, this property was severely lacking in period features and the layout was dysfunctional.
We re-established a central staircase, cutting through an unusual concrete structure. Then we developed a hierarchical layout, embracing the views of Regents Park and the complexities of a large family.
The property is embellished with classical detailing appropriate to the period of the property, but at the same time is fully serviced to meet contemporary demands.
