Regenerative Decay

Firm
The site is recognized as a wasteland; it fills the role of Prague's backside and contrasts the always maintained scenery of Prague's old town. By studying natural phenomenons, explorations are made of the relationship between the planned and the unpredictable, what is being established and where nature takes over. By establishing a process of erosion in the site, the entropic character and the unprogrammed space of the wasteland will be reinforced. The project can be seen as a comment on the contemporary city, where energy is put to maintain the facade and blur the signs of time. It is a hybrid between a theoretical urban- and a experimental approach with a strong character of sustainability, where the processes of decay create space - architecture.
