The project is a refurbishment of a house that built in the early twentieth century located in a corner of Barcelona's Eixample neighbourhood that was compartmentalized into small and dark interior rooms and with lots of lost area in the corridor. Our goal was to obtain a conversion into a loft or a classic two-room apartment.
The room distribution was eliminated, the structure was reinforced, and the structural walls were maintained which were repaired with coating. Two green objects were built to separate environments, where one is a furniture or shelf unit with a sliding door that separates the living room, dining room, and kitchen from a bedroom and study. The other is a shelving unit which contains a toilet, which houses three sliding doors and separates the master bedroom, the bathroom, and the hallway. This opened-closed atmospheres modify the amplitude and lighting of the spaces. The natural wood flooring gives warmth to the house, contrasting with the neutral white of the ceilings and walls and the green of the furniture.
