This project began with a corner house in the gothic quarter, totally obsolete, and had an old, fragmented distribution with small rooms that were demolished and converted. The aim of the project was to create a very functional home for renting.
The living room, dining room, and large single bedroom would take place in the street area, and the kitchen, office, bathroom, and the laundry room would be in the interior courtyard area with less natural light. The ceilings and walls were left only with the original construction elements and materials visible, and a new made-to-measure door was installed to separate the two rooms from the street. A transparent glass is the bonding element between the furniture and the original ceiling, to avoid the visual fragmentation of the spaces.
The white ceilings and walls and the neutral grey applied on floorings contrast with the strong yellow color chosen for the separating door from the furniture is the reference point of the entire project once it is visible from all points of the house.
