Refuge Church – Liberty, Missouri. Set at the top of a hill on a prime real estate corner of their city, Refuge Church will serve quite literally at the name suggests, a Refuge for all to run to. This new 20,000 sf facility has a modern industrial interior and exterior that avoids overtures of religious institutions of the past. The strong front elevation is set with sloping alternating canopies, highlighting the hierarchy of the spaces they cover, including a large gracious double height lobby space. A simple minimal industrial approach to material choices governs the interior with clean white walls, polished concrete floors, exposed structural steel, and light wood accents.
