The property is located in a development of single-family homes with a pool in the northern area of Madrid. The building spans two levels and features a gabled roof. The facade could not be altered.
In the proposed renovation project, the ground floor comprises a spacious and bright day area where social and representative functions are carried out, as well as auxiliary dependencies. The aim was to give a sense of unity to the entire house by creating a warm and neutral backdrop with natural elements, upon which to overlay the various artworks and objects belonging to the owners.
The living room and dining room are positioned to the southwest as successive spaces that open up to the garden and enhance the spatial feeling, visually connected from beginning to end. And the kitchen extends these spaces through a sliding wooden door that disappears.
Access to the house has been maintained through the north facade on the ground floor. The entrance hall has been conceived as a unique space characterized by the presence of a sculptural staircase that leads to the upper floor. Additionally, a bookshelf runs along the double height, acting as a filter between the hall and the living room. This floor also includes an office.
The upper floor houses four bedrooms, according to the needs of the new owners, each equipped with a bathroom and comfortable natural lighting, not forgetting the artworks and collectible pieces owned by the owners.
The renovation project improves the property's layout, enhances the communal areas, and brings natural light into the interior spaces of the house, with this light being a fundamental characteristic in the project's execution. The pool has been restored by modifying and adapting its aesthetics to ÁBATON's design.
