ADP has designed the new Redmonds Building for Liverpool John Moores University, providing a state-of-the-art home for the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies comprising the Liverpool Business School, The School of Law and Liverpool Screen School. Redmonds Building will also host LJMU’s business development agency, The Automatic, a dedicated postgraduate suite and a professional services area. Standing on the important junction between Brownlow Hill and Clarence Street in Liverpool (UK), the building will provide an impressive gateway for students, residents and visitors to both the Knowledge Quarter and the Mount Pleasant Campus. The main entrance to the building is located onto the principle arterial road of Brownlow Hill and responds to the new axis between Lime Street and Christ the King Cathedral identified in the Knowledge Quarter masterplan, ensuring greater integration and cohesion in the area. With around 11,500m2 of flexible, high quality space over six floors, the building will include three large lecture theatres, media production facilities, IT suites and a range of medium-sized teaching and seminar spaces. An integral part of the design has been to create a diversity of space for students, reflecting the World of Work agenda and encouraging students to stay and work in the building: promoting confidence, interaction and knowledge transfer in the vibrant spirit of the Quarter.
