Located in a quiet suburb in Goiania,
this recording studio was initially idealized by our client as one huge music room, a
small studio on an upper level room plus production offices, during
the process of design we suggested a different program
splitting the studio in two big rooms with visual connection and also
adding a common area and separate facilities for staff and
clients.Proportion and regularity are the main things you want to avoid
inside a recording studio to obtain the best results in acoustic
treatment, the architectural concept was to expose that contradiction
using regularity in all other areas. The floor plan in the common
area and administration is very orthogonal and repeating rectangular
proportions contrasting to the asymmetrical shape of the studios. The
regular form and the use of brick and timber in the façades
distinguishes from the concrete irregular volume of the studio
arising from inside. Was also a requirement from the client to
make none or minimum openings in the façade, for security
reasons.Wall openings to the outside unfortunately have to be
avoided in the recording studio due to the cost of special glasses,
but it not only adds the quality many studios doesn't have, in this
case it will make possible to visually connect two acoustically
isolated studios to be used as a bigger one
