REAR YARD ART PAVILION
The Art Pavilion was designed to sit in an art collector’s
back yard to show work that that did not fit into the main residence. This
small structure with an interior footprint of ten feet by ten feet was the
maximum size allowed by the local planning department. Emphasis was placed on
the four walls, thus the detached roof that hovers three inches above the walls
and allows natural light into the interior. The exterior was faced in vertical
old growth redwood to blend in the natural landscape of the yard.
