R&D Thinktank is located in the historic Hickory Street Annex near downtown Dallas.R&D Thinktank wanted a working environment that would reflect their image as a non-traditional creative agency. The concept of a “Think Tank” originated in the late fifties as an interdisciplinary approach to the study and resolution of complex technological and social problems. The design is based both literally and figuratively on the idea of the “Think Tank” as means of problem solving.The literal “Think Tank” is constructed of translucent panels that symbolize the nature of creative energy as it passes between the mind of the artist and the outside world. The wood credenza, media cabinet, and stair intersect and pass through the walls representing this exchange of ideas.-Citation, The American Institute of Architects Dallas Chapter Design Awards
