RBR or called as Rumah Bu Ratna (Bu Ratna's House) is a contemporary tropical modern style design house, which consists of 2 floors for living and the top floor will be used as a service area. This house considers a renovation building project, where our client wants to maintain the existing space/room at the ground floor as it is.
The challenge is that the land is quite narrow and elongated, so the provision of skylights above the main staircase area and a transparent roof on the 1st floor at the the living room is very helpful and essential to provide sufficient natural day lighting into the house. In addition, the placement of the bedroom on the 1st floor is prioritized overlooking the main road, so that it makes it easier to have an adequate lighting, in addition for safety and natural ventilation factors.
At the Top Floor, there are not only Bedrooms and Bathrooms for ART and Drying Room, but we designed a Sitting Room for our clients to enjoy the morning sun light and don't have to worry about rain because this floor is already protected by a transparent roof made of Poly Carbonate.
