Set on an attractive lot that slopes back dramatically towards the Don River, this three level custom home features superb views into the ravine and a quietly contemporary interior, also designed by DWA. All systems are designed to allow for passive heating and cooling, and the building features a high performance building envelope. The exposed, cast-in-place concrete structure’s thermal mass helps manage temperature extremes and creates a serene and secure environment for the family. The plan of the house is organized to support the way the family lives, and to separate the private rooms from the more public entertaining areas. Features include an extensive wine cellar, indoor gardens and generous skylights. The home is now in construction, expected to be complete in 2017.
