Located in an Lisbon`s historical and emblematic
area recently rehabilitated, the new bakery RATTON, is located in Largo Duque
do Cadaval, next to Rossio train station.
As part of the historic Rossio station building, this new bakery whishes to answer
the needs of a large amount of housing and services located in this area.
The name RATTON comes from the owner’s
family name and his French origin, reflecting in this way the logical
connection between the Portuguese and French products produced, and the
tradition in the bakery and pastry methods from the two countries.
This space is developed on the commercial ground floor of Largo Duque do
Cadaval, existing associated exterior wooden deck terraces, providing clients
the comfort and possibility of enjoying there products in a privileged outdoor
location.
The choice of materials for RATTON *The Bakery*, reflects an informal sense to
this bakery but with high quality in all elements and details that constitute
it.
References to ancient coffee trade spaces, bread and cakes bakeries, individual
moments lost in the memory of each one of us, now recovered a vision of the
future.
The unifying element of this space is wood, with different finishes, aiming to
differentiate volumetries / functions from the perspective of a formal coherent
concept.
In the interior this space reflects an carefully image, organized and
"clean", characterized by a dynamic image of the elements that
compose it.
As a primary objective, it is intended that RATTON *The Bakery*, is an asset to
this place by its uniqueness, in perfect harmony with the existing surroundings.
