We moved into the brownstone where I live when my daughter was two. Nine years later, when she was 11, it was time for us to stop sharing a bathroom. So, I converted the existing bathroom and the adjacent sauna upstairs into a full-sized, light-filled bathroom. Joining the two rooms made a gracious space. Relocating the plumbing to the wall opposite the window allowed light to penetrate entire room. Spaciousness was enhanced with an ultra-clear, water-white glass shower enclosure and a cantilevered vanity. Simple wall tile, a pop of color on the floor, and natural materials complement the beautiful and dynamic light.
