Light Art in the Berlin City West
Like bottlenecks are the tunnel spaces of railway bridges in the collective awareness, unfortunately, often as dark and unfriendly places. In Berlin's Charlottenburg district is the railway bridge now a bright artwork.
At the entrance of the train station Savignyplatz at Bleibtreustrasse, livebau realized the artistic design of the company aletja plus. Where once was a gloomy and shunned place, there arose an interactive meeting place between people and modern light art.
The LED lighting chain reacts on motion to pedestrians and triggers a circular motion, in green and violet light waves.
At the German Light Design Award 2014, the light installation "Railway bridge Bleibtreustraße" was awarded in the category "light art". The German Lighting Design Award honors annually outstanding lighting design in the German-speaking countries. Intention of the award is the perception of light in architecture to enhance and present special light installations in public.
