The 6.8km Qujiang Sightseeing Light Rail Line runs through the Tang Paradise and Qujiangchi Ruins Park, including 9 stations and 1 maintenance station. The station bodies are arranged in the upper part, and the auxiliary commercial and convenience facilities arranged in the lower part. This renovation practise, as a new landmark of tourism in Qujiang area, not only meets the sightseeing function of the light rail, but needs to reshape the business format and bring new vitality to the urban space.
As the different external environment surrounding each station, the renewal stations are divided into four types according to their texture, natural environment, urban context and surrounding social activities. "LiveFun Pavilion" stations are located in a corner of city square, they adopt the form of double slope roof, use large and small roofing to solve the scale issue caused by the height of the 3-story volume, so that the space and the surrounding environment can coexist harmoniously. The "Greenfield House" stations are arranged in the park area, the design uses landscape resources to provide rest areas with different elevations and sufficient display space. Buildings take on the appearance of a forest cabin, featuring stone tile roof, masonry walls and wood facade material that is close to nature. "Waterfront Feature" stations make use of the environmental advantages to create viewing spot and architectural form that coordinates with local river system. "Texture Remains" station pursues moderate renewal, and integrates modern architectural design elements to achieve light renovation which shows respect to the original style.
The renovation of stations mainly adopts steel structure covered by wood, the suspended ceiling is made of exposed steel beams, composite wood panels and wood grain aluminum panels, the roof features metal vertical locking and stone tile roof. In this way, the real construction logic can be restored.
