Quartier Cartier is a real estate project located in Quebec City’s Montcalm district, on the site of the former Bérubé garage. Immaculate in its design, it features simple, soft, and contemporary architectural lines. Centered around a landscaped interior courtyard, the building comprises 69 rental units, a large proportion of which are "through-units" (dual-aspect) spanning two levels, offering exceptional natural light and a high-quality living environment.
Built on a slope, the building is designed in a terraced configuration. On the Chemin Sainte-Foy side, the ground floor houses commercial storefronts (8,000 sq. ft.), the main lobby, and a dedicated bicycle and cross-country ski room to support active mobility. On the opposite and elevated side, the quieter Dumont Street welcomes nine townhomes with independent entrances. Their private terraces overlook the peaceful interior courtyard, one storey above street level. The project also features a south-east facing rooftop terrace, a spacious common lounge, and a gym. The development offers a restful living environment, set slightly back from the denser commercial corridors, with outdoor areas (balconies and the courtyard) providing a thoughtful balance within the urban context.
The name, logo, and brand identity were created as a cohesive whole to give the brand a unique tone and personality. Inspired by its location and distinctive features, the concept highlights the benefits of being connected—with oneself, with others, and with the environment—creating a living space where privacy and conviviality meet. The soothing colour palette harmonizes with the architecture and the Nordic-inspired interior design. Green, used as a secondary colour, suggests proximity to nature and the project’s lush, green heart. The geometry of the symbol is inspired by the architecture, echoing the recessed volumes that rhythm the facades, the delicate lines of the copper-toned balusters, and the arrangement of the blocks. The vacant center of the symbol suggests the importance of the central interior courtyard as a gathering place.
The symbol and brand universe evoke the intimacy of home versus the surrounding city's effervescence. Quartier Cartier is the simple pleasure of being at home while remaining close to others. A neighborhood within a neighborhood—a duality where life is good.
