Quarry House is located on the site of a former stone quarry along the western shores of Lake Champlain. The residence, sited along the back of the property, creates a threshold between the wooded landscape and the lake views beyond. Responding to the horizontality of the lake, the house is a single story with a flat roof softened with subtle variations in height. The house is laid out along a clearly defined central hallway with primary living spaces facing the lake and supporting program oriented to the wooded landscape. High ceilings, large doorways, and clerestory windows create generous spaces that reinforce the open feeling of the panoramic lake views beyond.
