Nobody ever stops, nothing
ever stops and watching a photograph hardly ever shows the reality or how a
place is lived, because Architecture is always being viewed from various points
of view and always on the run. Cinema is the only one able to keep up and
really show how Architecture lives and morphs with the people and the people
points of view.
The conceptual idea of this
movement brought us, to the overlaying of different 18mm films with different
topics, nature vs. city, wide panoramic vs. macro, façades vs. interiors, old
vs. new, light vs. shadows, organic vs. artificial and achieving a new image
that is something completely new and that is the sum of the whole, and using
this always changing concept, bringing it to the façade of our building turning
it into something that changes with a different point of view. Creating a skin
that shields the Pushkinsky Cinema and turns it into a metamorphous surface.
This overlaying of
different realities generates and reveals different and new realities, just
like our new façade, the different angles of the sheets produce different
coloring and shading to the façade, with people living the place and viewing
from different angles and reflections of the Pushkin Square and all its
crossing streets, we create an amazing theatre that has different movie, a
different reality for every viewer, it’s a new hybrid façade. It’s the result
of different perspectives, the pre-existent and the new Qualia building and its
relation with the pre-existent.
