Qingdao four seasons flowery cafe is located in Qingdao, Shandong province, which is the core area of the West Coast Economic New Area vigorously developed by the government. It is also one of the most high-end international villa projects in Qingdao developed by Vanke Group. It is close to Zhushan National Forest Park, a national 4A tourist attraction, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea in the south, with an excellent natural environment. The client hopes that the flowery café could involve local natural atmosphere while bringing new energy and attraction to the village. The mission of the design is to find a scientific balance between urban development and nature.
The flowery cafe aims to building the most beautiful and popular café on the west coast with the concept of “technology, future, universe”. The designer used elements of romance and nature to create an open leisure space full of plants and flowers. By means of vision and smell, the designer creates an artistic interactive combination of flower house and café.
Instead of customary design for café and other leisure area in urban cities, the project took advantages of natural environment of Qingdao village. 360 degrees of floor-to-ceiling wall makes the interior space extremely close to the nature.
The overall space uses botanies as main visual character, with flowers and plants like a bird of paradise flower, sansevieria, cactus, chrysalidocarpus lutescens, monstera deliciosa, hyacinth, pasqueflower, hydrangea, butterfly orchid, rose and so on. With a variety of flowers and vegetation layering in the space, it creates the scene of long-last spring. The hanging flower curtain at the entrance adds the romantic and dreamy feeling to the space.
The design style reflects the cut-age and modern concept. The designer uses elements of round and irregular geometry in the space. The roof bar and guest seats involve curve and round shape, reflecting the design style of space age, making the café an abstract and fiction architecture space, like an UFO accidentally falling from the universe.
With the abstract and concise FF&E decoration style, the design detail reflects futuristic visual elements, reminding the costumers of imagination about universe and stars. The light installation which can be switched into different colors also enhances the sensory experience of the space, making the space feel full of future and giving the flowery café a completely different appearance of day and night.
