This development contributes to the urban renewal of this neighbourhood located in north-east
Paris and the Rue des Pyrénées in particular, characterised by very different buildings in terms of
size and the materials used on their façades. The new building, which contains 28 units on seven
floors as well as an activity space on the ground floor succeeds thanks to its well-planned
recesses, overhangs and additions to the existing building. As the building is two stories higher
than it neighbours, the decision to introduce a tripartite division along the length of the lot helps
to break up the solid effect of the façades. In this way the ground floor is clearly expressed, then
the five floors forming the body of the building and finally the sixth and seventh floors, which play
around with the hollow and full volumes outlining houses on the roof and the balconies
