Inspired by
the unique form and the character of the building in all ages I decided to keep
the original shape. One problem is absence of multifunctional spaces and
old-fashioned elements on the facade. The concept contains three main
intervention on structures.
To set out
the good relations of the main building cube, terrace areas are reduced
alongside the streets. There were unusable surfaces on it. The oroginal groundfloor
system is also resettled.
Nowadays a
sustainable public facility must have a competitive outlook like a living
facade according to daily programs. For this purpose I designed a metal shell
around the orginal contour which follows the form and the character, does not
compete with the house but boosting the functional opportiunities. This pitted
surface has an unique LED light system and also a protection against weather
elements. Then this open but covered space between the shell and the house can
have new functions like hospitality, temporary welcome zone as an openspace
lobby.
The third
intervention is on the roof. A special memorial garden is created on the roof
suitable for exhibitions, garden cinema, botanical exhibitions, exclusive open
salon or contemporary projection.
