Pump Street Bakery in Orford, Suffolk was completed in 2011. The design provides a shop with plenty of space for the freshly baked bread to be displayed every morning whilst also creating a contemporary eating space for visitors and locals to sample the restaurants daily menu.

AS a Grade II listed building in the heart of this coastal village, the challenge was how to update and restore this old brewery into a modern bakery, shop, and restaurant and above flat. This involved extensive negotiations with locals, council officials, specialist and of course the clients. Unusual features of the project include re-constructing the original chimney (a structural challenge in itself) to accommodate the requirement for substantial mechanical ventilation from the kitchen.
