A Home That Grows From the Land
Perched above the lush coastline of Ojochal, this residence was envisioned as a structure that grows naturally from the land itself. The clients dreamed of a home that would not dominate the landscape, but rather blend into it complementing nature instead of taking from it. Inspired by the organic forms of the surrounding hills and coastline, the architecture is defined by fluid curves and soft, natural shapes, allowing the house to feel like an extension of its environment.
Sustainability was at the core of every design decision. Materials were carefully selected for their low environmental impact and natural qualities, including rammed earth walls built with soil sourced directly from the site. A green roof integrates the structure further into its surroundings while providing natural insulation and reducing energy consumption. Each element from form to material was guided by a desire to maximize its connection to the land.
The result is a home that not only frames extraordinary views but lives in harmony with the landscape, quietly honoring the beauty and integrity of the Costa Rican coast.
