"Pulsen i Assens" is a recreational urban landscape placed by Danisco's old areas at Assens port. In the 30,000 m2 large urban landscape, the focus is on playing, movement and sport and to add many new features that can give life and activity to the area.
The area's controlling element "Pulsen" - heartbeat, is a distinctive red trail linking the area and connects it to Assens. On the western side of "Pulsen", in conjunction with Assens Municipality new town hall, the area has an urban character with hard surfaces, while the eastern side of the area is green and scenic and is in the context of the new sports center Assens Arena.
There is introduced a number of new features in the area which expect the play, activity and sport, but it is the area's industrial character and traces of the old industrial landscape preserved. Among other things, maintaining a large chimney and the top five old silo foundations built circular space-forming elements with different functions one of which is used for jungle gym and another fireplace.
In addition, the area among other raceways, one long jump runway, a concert space, a basketball court, a squash court, a soccer field, playground, skateboard bastions, outdoor fitness equipment, and a krolf-track etc. It is the idea that the area should be the city's new recreational venue and provide the setting for outdoor concerts, school and leisure events, exhibitions and film screenings on the old juice station's white wall.
