The architecture should give the publisher and his ideas the ideal space… Publisher should be able to work every time and find ideas everywhere. There is no need for secure cosiness, but rather a generous harmony and proportional tension is desired. The concept explains how outer public space can be transformed into a passage through the building bringing people from the Theaterplatz to the street below and how it in turn outlines the private space of a publisher. Public and private paths. These two ways reflect constant dynamic that represents publishing process. Public path through the building also solves a crucial urban problem of connection, that city of Baden faces recent years. Close interaction between public and private realms gives us a possibility to understand how the internal space of publisher office is organised.
Due to the twenty metres difference in height the building can accommodate six levels of varied spaces connected with stairs that provide fast transitions between living and office spaces. Long continuous walls of the studio imply publisher’s ideology “Thinking while walking”.
