Kharkiv is the student's capital of Ukraine. Local studentship composes about 16 % of city's population. But all libraries have out-of-date equipment and librarian organization The main competition goal is designing of the first mediateka in Ukraine. Up-to-date educational and research facilities will have been accessible for moreover than 230 000 students. The plot allocated by authorities of Kharkiv is not apt because of it is part of the park. About 50 trees have been growing there since 1950-s. Environmentalists claim to move the location to another place. In this project we tried to reserve trees the more the better. Special shaped atria were implemented to avoid 13 trees. Daylightning is the subsidiary function of them. This building has to be a spatial up-to-date and sophisticated building conforming to sustainability standards. So, we combined not only library facilities, those conclude a huge library storage, a kid club, book reservation centre and several reading halls, but also spaces with another functions as a research centre, a book cafe 7/24, a book store, dancing halls, a record studio, business area and work studios. A passage-atrium passes through the building volume. It connects a park alley with a transport spot. The atria under whole volume create an affordable access and public space sheltered from rain. Building volume is divided by the atria into zones and levels. In total there are 18 levels shifted one versus one by 1,5m and connected with ramps. Levels enable the worth sun rays penetration to reading halls. All library data are distributed to different chambers according to a specific theme. There are periodicals, fiction, kid lit, exact sciences, art and architecture, mediateca (songs, movies, plays), academic books, belle-lettres, religion and philosophy, applied sciences, social sciences, medicine, social and political essays, historiography, manuscripts and typescripts, maps, natural sciences, photo and poster galleries, philately, heraldry, agitation and philumeny galleries, philocarty and lithography. Each thematic zone should have all types of data: books, microfiches, digital data in files and movies, film tapes. Mostly reading halls are not separated one of another. Only rare and antiques materials are located in isolated zones. Most of printing works should be available in Braille alphabet too.New access to the data is offered. All data should be integrated into a smart infrared identification system. The project provides for a double facade skin with integrated smart ventilation, solar-control and fire safety systems, heating and cooling with powerful heat pumps, hybrid daylight system, green roofs and walls, water leak and fire-extinguishing systems installed into bridgings, smart identification system, rainwater collection, waste management and electricity producing from vertical axis wind turbines installed on roofs. The library disappears into background greenery but deliberately is at variance with the Constructivism heritage. Voronoi pattern on facades emphasizes conceptuality of the project. This morphogenesis principle has been implemented into arrangement of adjacent territory too. Monuments of Kushanryov, Voronoi and Delonais should be placed there.
