Innovation through the use of fabric in architecture.
Creating shadow is an evidence when using fabric for the wellness and the well being in everyday's life. Along with shadow, we went to look for a way to produce fresh air out of our fabric design. Since shades and sun are “bitter friends”, we chose to go to where the sun shines most: the desert.
The system:
based on the “badgir”, the “malqaf” or wind catcher system, we mounted THE MAIN TOWER: a standard light structure covered with light color fabric.
This tower will receive the wind on higher level in order to transmit it to the ground level where various designs of shading structures could be installed.
on the bottom of the Main Tower:
> leisure parks can install their shading systems for public use
> bedouins can install their nomad tents
> and evryone can as well install their fabric shades into their private gardens and introverted courtyards
