The conversion from semi-private to private patient rooms began at the WVU Medicine’s Berkeley Medical Center with the 2nd-floor nursing unit and Progressive Care. The project was constructed in multiple phases and created 20 private patient rooms.
DRAW established a standard of using nature-inspired graphics to create a more pleasant patient healing environment. The graphics were integrated into the headwalls of each patient room. Other color-accented walls add interest and define the satellite nurse stations that are located between the patient rooms.
The 2nd-floor renovation includes a five-bed dialysis unit in the South Wing created by a four-story addition to the hospital.
