A new 2,800 sq. ft. residence on the water in Boca Raton Florida. We sited the building its equipment and native landscaping on the site so as to mitigate the harsh effects of the Florida sun and to maximize daylight and views to the rooms inside. Local zoning allows a much larger home for this site but we purposefully designed a smaller footprint in the hopes of setting an elegant example for the neighborhood. The interior spaces have long site lines, higher ceilings and taller windows to create open and more functional, flexible environments in the home. The well-designed floor plans allows for minimal glazing on the west facade in order to reduce solar heat gain. We are seeking LEED certification for this home.
