The project is a private residence for two families in Varkiza, an athenian suburb in southern Attica, by the sea. It is a three-story building positioned at the rear of a 440 sq.m. plot.
The living room and the kitchen are located on the ground floor and they have access and a view to the garden and pool. The first floor comprises the bedrooms and the family room. The second floor is an independent apartment and commands a view of the surrounding area all the way to the sea.
The architectural concept was the creation of simple geometrical forms, adhering to the interior functional organization, thus creating a unified entity. As far as the exterior is concerned, the building shell was wrapped in a continuous frame that changes direction constantly. This solid ribbon forms the balconies and the terraces, serving the building as a second skin.
