This typical 1930’ Amsterdam apartment is situated on the ground floor. The renovation of the apartment consisted of a new lay-out and extension at the back. The apartment is situated on the ground-floor and typically these kinds of flats are very dark. Due to this creating a lot of light was the main aim for this renovation. The existing wooden floor was painted white. This creates a lot of light in combination with white walls and natural materials such as wood. The kitchen is a white open plan kitchen situated in the centre of the flat, blending into the rest of the space. In contrast to the light living area, the bedroom walls are painted in a sea green colour. The dining table, hanging light, couch and other furnishings are natural- almost pastel coloured to enhance the light and pure feeling of the space.
