The proposed New Sport Hall for Prishtina is programed by the City Hall to be part of the International Bus Terminal complex. The bus terminal will not be only an indispensable facility for the city. People will enjoy their waiting period for the travel departures in the new modernized bus station building, but even in the new designed agreeable public space between two buildings. Beyond, the important sport events, “Prishtina Arena” will offer facilities and retail stores like travel agency offices, sport shop, combined with entertainment ones. Both buildings are conceived to build a common environment of social interaction for Kalabria & Dardania neighborhoods, but at the same time reference spot for the city. The ensemble of the existing and the new one is not a distinguished visual hierarchy. Everything is harmoniously melted in the new landscaped urban context.
Architecture of the sport hall building comes as consequence of the urban context interpretation conceived of fluid circulation by the main and secondary site accesses. The frontal lamellar wood cantilever structure is not only a landmark element in the main arrival point … beyond that … a daily arena for people meeting.
