The site is located in a newly developed area near Taiwan High Speed Rail’s Taoyuan Station. The scheme is composed of a two-story rectangular volume and double-layered, perforated metal louvers. Conceptualized as a “dancing box,” the design is intended to add a dynamic rhythm to this open field site.
The project presented a significant challenge for us: to create a built environment that meets both current and future commercial and perceptive needs. Applying maximum focus to the context, the massing of the project takes advantage of the openness of the site to create a continuous translucency in all dimensions of the building. The irregular openings cut from the metal louver façade provide air and views to the interior spaces.
